As a Mental Health Professional in the role of neutral Collaborative Divorce Facilitator, our focus is upon navigating the family changes, process details, and emotional turmoil that can arise during divorce. While divorce is clearly a legal and financial process, we always remember that it is first a personal family matter and our work together respects that fact. We support divorcing couples to learn or practice the communication skills toward the goal of a respectful, confidential and focused divorce negotiation.
Some professional experience that may benefit you in our work together:
Private Therapy/Counseling: Many years of providing supportive psychotherapy to people through life, grief, loss, stress, anxiety, depression, parenting, trauma, substance abuse, relationship challenges and more. I understand that people are more alike than we are different – yet somehow every individual remains quite unique. In my private practice, I often support individuals through the full range of life and relationship transitions, including premarital counseling and divorce.
Collaborative Practice: I work together with interdisciplinary teams to negotiate confidential divorces and other significant relationship issues. A trained mediator, I’ve successfully supported clients through highly sensitive and complex matters throughout some of their hardest life transitions. I most often serve divorcing families in the role of Divorce Coach, and also have often been a Child Specialist as well. Having been an active member of Collaborative Divorce teams for about 15 years, I am proud to have joined the team of founding members of the Northern Colorado Collaborative Divorce Group.
